| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Child Protective Investigator and Child |
| 5 | | Welfare Specialist
Certification Act of 1987 is amended by |
| 6 | | changing Section 5 as follows:
|
| 7 | | (225 ILCS 420/5) (from Ch. 111, par. 7655)
|
| 8 | | Sec. 5.
In addition to the requirements of Section 4, a |
| 9 | | person shall
be qualified to be certified if he or she:
|
| 10 | | (a) has passed an examination approved by the Department to |
| 11 | | determine
his fitness to perform the duties of or otherwise |
| 12 | | function as a child
protective investigator or child welfare |
| 13 | | specialist;
|
| 14 | | (b) is at least 18 years of age;
|
| 15 | | (c) has completed the curriculum of study or training, |
| 16 | | developed
pursuant to Section 4, at the Department, college or |
| 17 | | other institution that
is approved to do business in this |
| 18 | | State; and
|
| 19 | | (d) has a bachelor's degree in an area related to human |
| 20 | | services such as
law enforcement, police science, criminology, |
| 21 | | social work, early childhood
development or psychology,
|
| 22 | | provided that this subsection (d) shall not apply to persons |
| 23 | | employed by
the Department prior to the effective date of this |
