Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that on or before January 1, 2020, the Department of Children and Family Services, in consultation with the Department of Public Health, shall adopt rules that require child care facilities to implement an emergency action plan for an active shooter scenario. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 5.15 as follows: |
6 | | (225 ILCS 10/5.15 new) |
7 | | Sec. 5.15. Active shooter plan for child care facilities. |
8 | | On or before January 1, 2020, the Department, in consultation |
9 | | with the Department of Public Health, shall adopt rules that |
10 | | require child care facilities to implement an emergency action |
11 | | plan for an active shooter scenario.

12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
13 | | becoming law.
