Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall create a statewide business retention and expansion program and provide technical assistance to program participants. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
5 | | Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
6 | | amended by adding Section 605-1025 as follows: |
7 | | (20 ILCS 605/605-1025 new) |
8 | | Sec. 605-1025. Business retention and expansion program. |
9 | | The Department shall create a statewide business retention and |
10 | | expansion program to utilize State-funded grants for targeted |
11 | | companies, including nonprofit organizations, local |
12 | | governments, municipal authorities, industrial development |
13 | | agencies, and community organizations. The Department shall |
14 | | also provide technical assistance to program participants.

15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
16 | | becoming law.
