Amends the School Code. Provides that a school district may include in its curriculum a unit of instruction on hunting education that includes instruction on hunting safety. Requires the State Board of Education to prepare and make available to school boards instructional materials that may be used as guidelines for development of a unit of instruction on hunting education. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 27-23.13 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/27-23.13 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 27-23.13. Hunting education. A school district may |
| 8 | | include in its curriculum a unit of instruction on hunting |
| 9 | | education that includes instruction on hunting safety. The |
| 10 | | State Board of Education must prepare and make available to |
| 11 | | school boards instructional materials that may be used as |
| 12 | | guidelines for development of a unit of instruction under this |
| 13 | | Section.

| 14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 15 | | becoming law.
