2 | | number to report an alleged incident of bullying or hazing may |
3 | | remain anonymous. Through the statewide toll-free telephone |
4 | | number, the Attorney General shall provide callers with |
5 | | information on how to handle an alleged incident of bullying or |
6 | | hazing. The information provided may include a list of |
7 | | available resources developed or provided by other federal or |
8 | | State agencies concerning bullying or hazing prevention. Upon |
9 | | receipt of a child's report of bullying or hazing, the Attorney |
10 | | General shall report the incident as soon as possible to the |
11 | | superintendent of the school district in which the child |
12 | | resides or, if the child attends a non-public school, the |
13 | | administrator of the non-public school. Reports made to the |
14 | | statewide toll-free telephone number concerning an alleged |
15 | | incident of bullying or hazing shall not initiate a child abuse |
16 | | or neglect investigation under the Abused and Neglected Child |
17 | | Reporting Act and shall not be transmitted to any Child |
18 | | Protective Services Unit. |
19 | | The Attorney General shall inform all school districts and |
20 | | non-public schools in the State that school-aged children under |
21 | | the age of 18 may call the statewide toll-free telephone number |
22 | | established under this Section to report alleged incidents of |
23 | | bullying or hazing. The Attorney General shall also post on its |
24 | | website, in a relevant and conspicuous place, information on |
25 | | how a child can report an alleged incident of bullying or |
26 | | hazing to the statewide toll-free telephone number. ".
