Amends the Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois Act. Provides that the Program Board created to administer the grant program authorized by the Act shall be comprised of 11 (rather than 21) members. Effective immediately.

|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in |
| 5 | | Illinois Act is amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 930/3) (from Ch. 144, par. 2303)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 3. Composition of the Program Board. The Program Board |
| 8 | | shall be comprised of 11 21 members and shall be appointed by |
| 9 | | the Board of Higher Education. Persons appointed to the Program |
| 10 | | Board shall include, but need not be limited to, individuals |
| 11 | | who are in leadership positions in institutions of higher |
| 12 | | education, including community colleges. Illinois institutions |
| 13 | | that grant doctoral degrees must have representation on the |
| 14 | | Program Board.
|
| 15 | | The Board shall assure that racial minorities who are |
| 16 | | traditionally
underrepresented in postsecondary education |
| 17 | | programs and activities are
members of the Program
