AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2599




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2599, AS AMENDED, by 
3replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 
4following:

 
5    "Section 5. The Counties Code is amended  by adding Section 
65-43027 as follows:
 
7    (55 ILCS 5/5-43027  new)
8    Sec. 5-43027. Representation at hearings. In counties with 
9a population of 3,000,000 or more, a corporation, limited 
10liability company, or limited liability partnership may appear 
11at an administrative hearing proceeding through any individual 
12who has the authority to act on behalf of and with power to 
13bind the respective corporation, limited liability company, or 
14limited liability partnership in the matter that is the subject 
15of the administrative hearing proceeding. Nothing in this 
16Section may be construed to permit appearances by any such

1individual in contested property tax proceedings.

 
2    Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by 
3adding Section 1-2.1-5.5 as follows:
 
4    (65 ILCS 5/1-2.1-5.5 new)
5    Sec. 1-2.1-5.5. Representation at hearings. A corporation, 
6limited liability company, or limited liability partnership 
7may appear at an administrative hearing proceeding through any 
8individual who has the authority to act on behalf of and with 
9power to bind the respective corporation, limited liability 
10company, or limited liability partnership in the matter that is 
11the subject of the administrative hearing proceeding. Nothing 
12in this Section may be construed to permit appearances by any 
13such individual in contested property tax proceedings.
 
14    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
15becoming law.".
