2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section |
5 | | 3-6008 as follows:
|
6 | | (55 ILCS 5/3-6008) (from Ch. 34, par. 3-6008)

7 | | Sec. 3-6008. Deputies. Each sheriff may appoint one or
more |
8 | | deputies , not exceeding the number allowed by the county board |
9 | | of his
or her county . No person who has ever been classified as |
10 | | a conscientious
objector by a local selective service draft |
11 | | board may be appointed as a
deputy sheriff.
