Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State, subject to appropriation, shall implement a statewide program for the creation and distribution of a universal sticker for persons with disabilities to place on their vehicles to notify law enforcement that they are disabled. Provides that the design of the universal sticker shall be at the discretion of the Secretary, except that it must first be approved by the Department of State Police. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 2-129 as follows: |
6 | | (625 ILCS 5/2-129 new) |
7 | | Sec. 2-129. Universal sticker for persons with |
8 | | disabilities. The Secretary of State, subject to |
9 | | appropriation, shall implement a statewide program for the |
10 | | creation and distribution of a universal sticker for persons |
11 | | with disabilities to place on their vehicles to notify law |
12 | | enforcement that they are disabled. The design of the universal |
13 | | sticker shall be at the discretion of the Secretary, except |
14 | | that it must first be approved by the Department of State |
15 | | Police.

16 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
17 | | becoming law.
