AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2275




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2275 as follows:


 
3on page 1, line 5, after "amended", by inserting "by adding 
4Section 4.10 and"; and
 
5on page 1, immediately below line 5, by inserting the 
6following:
 
7    "(115 ILCS 5/4.10 new)
8    Sec. 4.10. Length of work as subject of collective 
9bargaining.
10    (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act or 
11other law to the contrary, with respect to a school district 
12organized under Article 34 of the School Code only, collective 
13bargaining between an educational employer and an exclusive 
14representative of its employees may include decisions to 
15determine the length of the work and school day and the length

1of the work and school year.
2    (b) The subject or matters described in subsection (a) are 
3permissive subjects of bargaining between the educational 
4employer and an exclusive representative of its employees and, 
5for the purpose of this Act, are within the sole discretion of 
6the educational employer to decide to bargain, provided that 
7the educational employer is required to bargain over the impact 
8of a decision concerning the subject or matter on the 
9bargaining unit upon request of the exclusive representative 
10under Section 10.".
