Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that August 26 of each year is designated as Illinois Constitution Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day to commemorate August 26, 1818 as the day Illinois ratified its first State Constitution.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 194 as follows: |
6 | | (5 ILCS 490/194 new) |
7 | | Sec. 194. Illinois Constitution Day. August 26 of each year |
8 | | is designated as Illinois Constitution Day, to be observed |
9 | | throughout the State as a day to commemorate August 26, 1818 as |
10 | | the day Illinois ratified its first State Constitution.
