| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 | | 3-6018 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (55 ILCS 5/3-6018) (from Ch. 34, par. 3-6018)

| 7 | | Sec. 3-6018. Counties under 1,000,000; control of internal
|
| 8 | | operations. In In counties of less than 1 million population, |
| 9 | | the sheriff
shall control the internal operations of his |
| 10 | | office. Subject to the
applicable county appropriation |
| 11 | | ordinance, the sheriff shall direct the
county treasurer to |
| 12 | | pay, and the treasurer shall pay, the expenditures for
the |
| 13 | | sheriff's office, including payments for personal services, |
| 14 | | equipment,
materials and contractual services. Purchases of |
| 15 | | equipment by the sheriff
shall be made in accordance with any |
| 16 | | ordinance requirements for centralized
purchasing through |
| 17 | | another county office or through the state which are
applicable |
| 18 | | to all county offices.
