1 | | AN ACT concerning criminal law.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Arrest and Conviction of Out of State |
5 | | Murderers Act is amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
|
6 | | (725 ILCS 110/1) (from Ch. 60, par. 51)

7 | | Sec. 1.
Whenever any citizen of this state, or any minor |
8 | | child residing with its
parents or guardian in this state, |
9 | | shall heretofore have been, or shall
hereafter be, by |
10 | | fraudulent pretenses, enticed or kidnapped and
and taken out
of |
11 | | this state into any other state, and by such enticer or |
12 | | kidnapper or his
confederates murdered, and the relatives or |
13 | | parents or guardian of such
person, shall have pursued or shall |
14 | | pursue such criminal and procured his
arrest and conviction of |
15 | | such crime under the laws of such other state, the
reasonable |
16 | | expense incurred in procuring such arrest and conviction in |
17 | | such
other state, shall be paid out of the treasury of this |
18 | | state as follows: |
19 | | Any person making claim under the provision of this act |
20 | | shall file a
statement of the claim with the several items |
21 | | thereof with the State
Comptroller, which claim shall be |
22 | | verified by the oath of the claimant and
by record or other |
23 | | satisfactory proof of the conviction of the criminal,
and by |
