|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 10-1-2 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (65 ILCS 5/10-1-2) (from Ch. 24, par. 10-1-2)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 10-1-2.
The mayor may, in his discretion, remove any |
| 8 | | commissioner for for
incompetence, neglect of duty or |
| 9 | | malfeasance in office. The mayor shall
within 10 days report in |
| 10 | | writing any such removal to the corporate
authorities, with the |
| 11 | | reasons therefor. Any vacancy in the office of
commissioner |
| 12 | | shall be filled by appointment by the mayor or, if the
|
| 13 | | municipality is under the commission form of municipal |
| 14 | | government, then by
the corporate authorities.
