1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 10-1-3 as follows:
|
6 | | (65 ILCS 5/10-1-3) (from Ch. 24, par. 10-1-3)
|
7 | | Sec. 10-1-3.
The commissioners shall classify all all the |
8 | | offices and places of
employment in such municipality with |
9 | | reference to the examinations
hereinafter provided for, except |
10 | | those offices and places excluded by
Section 10-1-17. The |
11 | | offices and places so classified by the commission
shall |
12 | | constitute the classified civil service of such municipality. |
13 | | No
appointments to any of such offices or places shall be made |
14 | | except under
and according to the rules hereinafter mentioned.

15 | | The commissioners shall also classify all positions of |
16 | | employment in
respect to employees whose employment is |
17 | | transferred to the municipality by
virtue of "An Act in |
18 | | relation to the exchange of certain functions,
property and |
19 | | personnel among cities, and park districts having coextensive
|
20 | | geographic areas and populations in excess of 500,000," |
21 | | approved July 5,
1957, as heretofore and hereafter amended, and |
22 | | such positions of
employment shall be included in the |
23 | | classified civil service of the
municipality.
