AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 844




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 844 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Grant Accountability and Transparency Act 
5is amended  by adding Section 77 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 708/77 new)
7    Sec. 77. Independent Service Coordination agency 
8exemption.
9    (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 75 or  any 
10other provision of law to the contrary, Independent Service 
11Coordination agencies are exempt from the provisions of this 
12Act with respect to the grant application and notice of 
13opportunity process. 
14    (b) Any award granted under this Act by the Division of 
15Developmental Disabilities of the Department of Human Services 
16to an Independent Service Coordination agency  prior to the

1effective date of this amendatory Act of the 101st General 
2Assembly is void. Nothing in this Section shall be construed to 
3prevent the Division from providing grants to Independent 
4Service Coordination agencies. 
5    (c) For the purposes of this Section, "Independent Service 
6Coordination agency" means a non-profit organization that 
7contracts with the Division of Developmental Disabilities of 
8the Department of Human Services to provide independent service 
9coordination as defined under subsection (b) of Section 10 of 
10the Disabilities Services Act of 2003.

 
11    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
12becoming law.".
