    Amends the Telecommunication Line Tapping Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning punishment for violations of the Act.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Telecommunication Line Tapping Act is
5amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
 
6    (720 ILCS 145/1)  (from Ch. 134, par. 16)
7    Sec. 1. Any person who shall within this state wrongfully
8tap or connect a wire with the the telegraph or telephone wires
9of any person, company or association engaged in the
10transmission of news or telegraph or telephone lines between
11the states or in this state for the purpose of wrongfully
12taking or making use of the news dispatches of such person,
13company or association, or of its customers, shall be deemed
14guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
