SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Amends Public Act 100-586. Repeals an appropriation from the Road Fund to the Department of Transportation for a grant to the Chicago Department of Transportation for infrastructure improvements. Adds the same amount to an appropriation from the Road Fund for construction and land acquisition. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. "AN ACT making appropriations", Public Act 100-586, approved June 4, 2018, is amended by changing Section 30 of Article 144 as follows:

Sec. 30. The following amounts sum of
$644,985,700, or so much thereof as may be necessary, are is
appropriated from the Road Fund to the Department of Transportation for
preliminary engineering and construction engineering and contract costs of
construction, including reconstruction, extension and improvement of state
highways, arterial highways, roads, access areas, roadside shelters, rest
areas, fringe parking facilities and sanitary facilities, and such other
purposes as provided by the “Illinois Highway Code”; for purposes allowed or
required by Title 23 of the U.S. Code; for bikeways as provided by Public Act
78-850; for land acquisition and signboard removal and control, junkyard
removal and control and preservation of natural beauty; and for capital improvements
which directly facilitate an effective vehicle weight enforcement program, such
as scales (fixed and portable), scale pits and scale installations and scale
houses, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for the state
portion of the Road Improvement Program as approximated below:

Section 10. Section 105 of Article 144 of "AN ACT making appropriations", Public Act 100-586, approved June 4, 2018, is repealed.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
