Amends the School Code. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a school board may immediately suspend or terminate the employment of any person employed by a school district or contracted to work for a school district who has been convicted of a sex offense; defines "sex offense". Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections |
5 | | 10-20.69 and 34-18.61 as follows: |

7 | | Sec. 10-20.69. Employee suspension or termination; sex |
8 | | offense. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the |
9 | | contrary, a school board may immediately suspend or terminate |
10 | | the employment of any person employed by a school district or |
11 | | contracted to work for a school district who has been convicted |
12 | | of a sex offense, as defined under Section 2 of the Sex |
13 | | Offender Registration Act. |
