2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Stephen F. "Steve" Corrao of Joliet, who |
4 | | passed away on October 14, 2018; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Steve Corrao was born in Salem, Massachusetts to |
6 | | Andrew and Katherine (Kucker) Corrao on December 13, 1941; he |
7 | | received his bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa; |
8 | | and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Steve Corrao dedicated his career to being an |
10 | | advocate for disadvantaged youth; he served as the Executive |
11 | | Director of the George Werden Buck Boys and Girls Club for over |
12 | | 40 years; he served as president of Agencies United and on the |
13 | | United Way of Will County Board of Directors; he was the |
14 | | co-founder and the first president of the Greater Joliet |
15 | | Alliance for Youth; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Steve Corrao was the recipient of the Lewis |
17 | | University/Zorich Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003; in May of |
18 | | 2010, he was awarded an Outstanding Image Award in the area of |
19 | | Youth Services by Branch #3018 of the Joliet NAACP; and |
20 | | WHEREAS, Steve Corrao was a certified official in three |
21 | | Illinois High School Association sports, football, basketball, |
