2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ronald W. "Butch" Marulewski of McHenry, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on March 14, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ronald Marulewski was born in Chicago to Casmer | ||||||
6 | and May (Podnewich) Marulewski on October 17, 1946; he married | ||||||
7 | Christine J. Holmes at St. Fidelis Church in Chicago on August | ||||||
8 | 12, 1967 and they settled in Johnsburg in 1972; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Ronald Marulewski was a chemist by trade; he began | ||||||
10 | his career by working for Helene Curtis, then Magee Chemical, | ||||||
11 | before finally obtaining a position as a chemical operator for | ||||||
12 | the Rohm and Haas Company; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Ronald Marulewski was a member of St. John the | ||||||
14 | Baptist Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic | ||||||
15 | Minister; he was a faithful fourth-degree member of the | ||||||
16 | Johnsburg Knights of Columbus, St. John the Baptist Catholic | ||||||
17 | Church Council 9167, and served as a Grand Knight and a Deputy | ||||||
18 | Grand Knight; he was also a 4th Degree Knight of the Bishop | ||||||
19 | Boylan Assembly #198; and | ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Ronald Marulewski was affectionately know as "Big | ||||||
21 | Ron"; he was a jack of all trades and was always willing to |

1 | lend a hand to those who asked; he enjoyed hunting and camping; | ||||||
2 | he was an avid fisherman and made his own fishing rods and | ||||||
3 | other fishing equipment; and | ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, For over 20 years, Ronald Marulewski would don his | ||||||
5 | Santa suit around Christmas time and bring joy to children and | ||||||
6 | those young at heart at many family Christmas parties and local | ||||||
7 | community events; he loved making people smile and his laugh | ||||||
8 | was a well-known part of his gregarious nature; he loved to | ||||||
9 | cook and was well known for his sauerkraut; he was dubbed "The | ||||||
10 | Kraut Man" at Saufen und Spiel and at other Knights of Columbus | ||||||
11 | functions; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Ronald Marulewski was preceded in death by his | ||||||
13 | parents; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Ronald Marulewski is survived by his wife of 50 | ||||||
15 | years, Christine; his children, Maire (Ron) Meyer, Ronald | ||||||
16 | (Michelle Badman) Marulewski, John Marulewski, and Kateri | ||||||
17 | (Steve) Kohon; his grandchildren, Trenton, Wyatt, and Aviana; | ||||||
18 | his brother, Gregory Marulewski; and his sister, Rosemarie | ||||||
19 | Marulewski; therefore, be it
| ||||||
20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
22 | Ronald W. "Butch" Marulewski, and extend our sincere |

1 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
2 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
4 | presented to the family of Ronald Marulewski as an expression | ||||||
