2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Glynn G. Shubert of Watson, who passed |
4 | | away on March 7, 2018; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Glynn Shubert was born in Lively Grove in |
6 | | Washington County to Arthur C. and Katherine D. (Kinzel) |
7 | | Shubert on December 8, 1931; he married Lois Peterson; he later |
8 | | married Marjorie C. (Tubbs) Hildebrand on November 21, 1971; |
9 | | and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Glynn Shubert had a passion for hunting turkey and |
11 | | deer and was a strong supporter for the preservation of the |
12 | | hunting sport; in his younger years, he also enjoyed bird |
13 | | hunting; he served at the national, state, and local level of |
14 | | the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) Board of Directors; |
15 | | throughout his life, he received several prestigious awards |
16 | | from the NWTF; and |
17 | | WHEREAS, Glynn Shubert always enjoyed living in their log |
18 | | home in the woods and sharing the outdoors with his family; he |
19 | | liked to garden and enjoyed singing in choirs his entire life; |
20 | | he was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, the NRA, |
21 | | and an over 50-year member of the Farm Bureau; and

1 | | WHEREAS, Glynn Shubert was preceded in death by his parents |
2 | | and his siblings, Mildred (Arnold) White, Leona (Bill) Koenig, |
3 | | Arthur K. "Budd" (Leona) Shubert, Alverna (Floyd) Campbell, |
4 | | LaVon (Paul) Campbell, R.W. "Bill" Shubert, and Wade (Margaret) |
5 | | Shubert; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Glynn Shubert is survived by his wife, Marjorie; |
7 | | his children, Renee (Mark) Spenny, Richard (Gina) Shubert, and |
8 | | Kevin (Lorna) Shubert; his stepchildren, Alan (Renee) |
9 | | Hildebrand and Vicki (Phil) Dhom; his grandchildren, Brandon |
10 | | Haake, Ambra (Shane White) Haake, Jessica (Cliff) Morine, |
11 | | Mitchell Shubert, Benjamin Shubert, Kenneth Shubert, Lindsey |
12 | | (Dan) Pheiffer, and Erika (Dustin) Brooks; 15 |
13 | | great-grandchildren; his sister, Kathryn (John) Obermeier; and |
14 | | his special niece, Sandra Rennegarbe-Epplin; therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Glynn G. Shubert, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Glynn Shubert as an expression of |
22 | | our deepest sympathy.
