SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert S. "Bob" Redfern of Fairfield, who
4passed away on March 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was born in Fairfield to Seth and
6Neomi Harris Redfern on December 7, 1933; he served in the
7United States Army during the Korean War and married Joyce
8Dobbs on March 16, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was a businessman; he owned and
10operated Redfern Wholesale in Fairfield for many years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was president of the Illinois Forum;
12he was a former chairman of the Illinois Republican Party and a
13former state committeeman for Republican Party Congressional
14District #22; he was a member of the American Legion and VFW;
15he was of the Presbyterian faith; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bob Redfern was preceded in death by his parents;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bob Redfern is survived by his wife, Joyce; his
19son, Robert S. (Gail) Redfern Jr.; his daughter, Pam (David)
20Bell; his sister, Patty Ewing; three grandchildren; and one

1great-grandchild; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Robert S. "Bob" Redfern, and extend our sincere condolences to
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Bob Redfern as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
