SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rodney Ray Jamieson of East Moline, who 
4passed away on March 2, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rodney Jamieson was born in Moline to Roland and 
6Lillian Raisch Jamieson on July 2, 1925; he served in the 
7United States Navy during World War II; he married Dorothea 
8Daniels in Peoria on November 19, 1949; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rodney Jamieson retired from Rock Island Lines as 
10a railroad engineer after 39 years of service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Rodney Jamieson was a past member of the East 
12Moline American Legion Post 227; he enjoyed gardening and 
13watching his grandchildren play sports; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Rodney Jamieson was preceded in death by his 
15parents and his brother, Francis; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Rodney Jamieson is survived by his wife, Dorothea; 
17his children, Dan Jamieson, Joann Ackley, Susan Jamieson, and 
18Jennifer Jamieson; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Michael 
19Ackley; and his great-grandson Colton Ackley and another baby 
20on the way; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Rodney Ray Jamieson and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Rodney Jamieson as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
