SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph John "Joe" Triolo of Zion, who
4passed away on January 11, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joe Triolo was born in Wilkinson, West Virginia to
6John Sr. and Mary (Azzer) Triolo on March 3, 1920; he grew up
7in West Virginia and was raised in a coal mining community; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joe Triolo joined the United States Navy and was
9aboard the USS Tangier in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941; he
10had a 21-year career with the Navy, retiring as a Chief
11Boatswain's Mate; he enrolled in Lake Forest College at the age
12of 38 and received a bachelor's degree; he furthered his
13studies at Roosevelt University; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joe Triolo taught and was a counselor for 21 years
15for the North Chicago School District; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joe Triolo and his wife always believed in the
17power of education and made significant donations to various
18colleges and community organizations; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joe Triolo was preceded in death by his parents;
20an infant son; his brothers, Melvin "Mel", Tony, and John

1Triolo Jr.; and his sisters, Catherine and Helen Triolo; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Joe Triolo is survived by his wife of 63 years,
3Katherine (Despot) and his sister, Angeline Triolo; therefore,
4be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Joseph John "Joe" Triolo, and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Joe Triolo as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
