SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sarah Jane Beggs Coad of White Hall, who passed away on September 19, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was born in Chicago to Charles Norman and Elizabeth Corsa Beggs on January 20, 1935; she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from the University of Illinois in 1956; she married Morris K. Coad in Oak Park on June 17, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was a breakfast cook at MacMurray College for many years and was affectionately known as the Omelet Lady; she was co-owner of Coad Window Cleaning Service until her passing; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and the Carrollton Community Chorus; she participated in numerous productions of The Witness and loved attending Bible study; she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in White Hall; she especially loved her family; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Coad was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Emily Esarey; and her brother, William Beggs; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Coad is survived by her husband, Morris; her daughters, Kathy (Lloyd) Brooks and Amy (Patrick) Devine; her sons, Martin (Jenny) Coad, Stuart (Judy) Coad, and Norman (April) Coad; her grandchildren, Jason, Jenny, Bradyn, Talon, and Larissa Coad, Ashley Dotzert, Corey McDannald, Leslie and Noah Brooks, Samantha, Chelsea, Alex, Taylor, and Hallie Coad, Katherine Burton, Olivia Cope, and Jason Devine; her ten great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gregory Beggs; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sarah Jane Beggs Coad, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sarah Coad as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
