| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Henry Kropp of Crystal Lake, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 19, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was born in Steubenville, Ohio to |
| 6 | | Edith and Henry Kropp on July 3, 1938; he earned a Bachelor of |
| 7 | | Arts from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, |
| 8 | | Pennsylvania and served in the United States Army; he married |
| 9 | | Marilynn in Algonquin in 1990; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was employed by Terra Cotta |
| 11 | | Industries for several years; for many years, he was the owner |
| 12 | | and operator of the Kropp Insurance Agency in Crystal Lake; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kropp served on the Crystal Lake City |
| 14 | | Council from 1979 to 1983; he was a member of the Crystal Lake |
| 15 | | Chamber of Commerce and was one of the original Crystal Lake |
| 16 | | Ambassadors; he loved his community and participating in |
| 17 | | community events and working with his neighborhood association |
| 18 | | board; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was always up for a good card game |
| 20 | | with friends; his wonderful disposition and his positive |
| 21 | | outlook were a joy to his friends and family; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was preceded in death by his |
| 2 | | parents; his brother, David Kropp; his mother-in-law, Gertrude |
| 3 | | Barker; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and |
| 4 | | Charles Holmes; and his brother-in-law, Bill Baldauf; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kropp is survived by his wife, Marilynn; |
| 6 | | his niece, Dr. Debbie (John) Johnson; his step-children, Dana |
| 7 | | March (Jeff) Jucknowski and Christopher (Jennifer) March; his |
| 8 | | children, David (Jill) Kropp and Sarah (Jeff) Sedlack; his |
| 9 | | niece, Laura Barker and her children, Alex and Andrea; his |
| 10 | | sister-in-law, Dorothy Baldauf; his grandchildren, Jeremy |
| 11 | | March, Gianna Jucknowski, Jace Jucknowski, Korra Jucknowski, |
| 12 | | Andrew March, Evan March, Amber Kropp, and Mazie Sedlack; his |
| 13 | | nieces and nephews, Susan (Marty) Davis, Michael Holmes, Jean |
| 14 | | (Jim) Olsen, Carol (Keven) Gunwall, Rick Barker, Karen (John) |
| 15 | | Ross, Kathy (Bill) Jones, and Patti (Jim) Miegs; and numerous |
| 16 | | good friends; therefore, be it

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 19 | | Richard Henry Kropp, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 20 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
