SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3recognize the life of Richard Wayne Miller of Illinois City,
4who passed away on February 23, 2005; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Miller was born in Millersburg to Charles
6and Josephine Hall Miller on June 8, 1934; he served in the
7United States Navy during the Korean War and married Joan
8Armetta in Chicago on May 10, 1958; he married Joy Gill Varner
9in Rock Island on January 2, 1998; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Miller worked as a truck driver for Moline
11Consumers for 33 years; he retired in June of 1994; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Miller was known to many by his C.B.
13handle of "Bulldog"; he attended 15th Avenue Christian Church
14in Rock Island and was a member of American Legion Post 246
15Moline; he loved his old Massy Ferguson tractor and his pets,
16including six cats and his special buddy, his border collie,
17Sheba; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Miller was preceded in death by his first
19wife, Joan; his granddaughter, Mindy Miller; his stepson, Gary
20Varner; his sister, Louise Young; and his brothers, Floyd,
21Robert, and Carl Miller; and

1    WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Richard Miller was
2survived by his wife, Joy; his daughters, Debra, Dr. Pamela,
3and Dr. Patricia Miller; his son, Earl (Missy) Miller; his
4stepchildren, David Varner, Connie (Kevin) Guthrie, and Sondra
5Westmoreland; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;
6seven step-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Dorothy Green and
7Stella Finchman; and his brother, Charles Miller; therefore, be
8it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Richard Wayne Miller, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Richard Miller as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
