2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Eric Thomas Hyatt of Gibson City, who |
4 | | passed away on July 21, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Eric Hyatt was born in Gibson City to Wilber |
6 | | Francis and Doris Ann (Hinrichsen) Hyatt on February 4, 1970; |
7 | | and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Eric Hyatt served as a Fairbury police officer for |
9 | | six years and a Gibson City police officer for 11 years; he was |
10 | | promoted to Gibson City Chief of Police in October of 2016; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Eric Hyatt was a member of St. John's Lutheran |
12 | | Church in Anchor and an active member of the Gibson City Youth |
13 | | Baseball League, where he focused on fundraising and was a |
14 | | longtime coach; he was an avid fisherman, raced remote control |
15 | | cars, and loved the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues; |
16 | | his greatest joy was watching his own children participate in |
17 | | sports; and |
18 | | WHEREAS, Eric Hyatt was an advocate for early colon cancer |
19 | | screening; he was an active member of The Colon Club education |
20 | | and support group, where he was a calendar model for the 2013 |
21 | | Colon Club "Colonder"; and
