2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Armand King Harris, who passed away on |
4 | | April 11, 2017; and

5 | | WHEREAS, Armand Harris was born in Chicago to Dolores R. |
6 | | and Harold R. Harris
(biological father William King) on |
7 | | November 20, 1981; he attended Field and
Sandburg Elementary |
8 | | Schools and graduated from Brooks Junior High School in 1998; |
9 | | he loved sports and played Pee Wee and Midgets football for the |
10 | | Harvey Colts from ages 6 to 12; he graduated from Thornton |
11 | | Township High School in 2001, where he was the starting
|
12 | | quarterback for the football team; he attended Morris Brown |
13 | | College
in Georgia, Valparaiso University in Indiana, and Logan |
14 | | Community College in Carbondale; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Armand Harris worked at Neuro-Restoratives, where |
16 | | he helped people recover from brain and spinal
cord injuries; |
17 | | and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Armand Harris was the proud father of three sons, |
19 | | Brycen Khalil Harris (Dontesia Stewart), Philant Marcell |
20 | | Chatmon (Phillicia Chatmon), and Kam Ryan Harris (Vanessa |
21 | | Whitfield); and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Armand Harris relocated to Denver, Colorado in May |
2 | | of 2013 with Vanessa and their son, Kam; he worked at
Aluwind |
3 | | Inc. in Castle Rock, Colorado as a machinist building wind |
4 | | turbines; he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, |
5 | | exercising, and enjoying nature; they returned to Carbondale in |
6 | | October of 2016; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Armand Harris is survived by his mother, Delores |
8 | | R. Harris; his siblings, Harold R. Harris Jr., D'Rae L. Harris,
|
9 | | Daphnie Harris-Lancaster, Stacey L. Harris, Shane H. Harris, |
10 | | Rasah A. (Marcus) Daily, Stacy King, DeAndre
King, Durrell |
11 | | King, and Fontaine King; his honorary brothers, Paul Nelson, |
12 | | Ron Hampton, and Ariel
Tucker; his sons, Brycen, Philant, and |
13 | | Kam; and many nieces, nephews, cousins,
extended family, and |
14 | | friends; therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Armand King Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Armand Harris as an expression of |
22 | | our deepest sympathy.
