SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara C. Joehl of Godfrey, who passed
4away on February 19, 2017 at the age of 93; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Joehl was born in Godfrey to Joseph and
6Caroline (Nolan) Schetter on November 12, 1923; she married
7Raymond C. Joehl in Alton on May 2, 1944; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Barbara Joehl was an active member of Saint
9Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey; she worked in food services
10at Monticello College and had also worked for Western Cartridge
11Company in East Alton; she was a Madison County election worker
12for her local precinct; she retired from Joehl's Alfalfa Queen
13Farm in 1982; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Barbara Joehl was preceded in death by her
15parents; her husband; her daughter, Eleanor Nolan; her son,
16Maurice Joehl; two grandchildren, Timothy Joehl and Gregory
17Nolan; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Ruckman and Bobby
18Sims; two brothers, Joseph and Leon Schetter; and four sisters,
19Ann Heafner, Josephine Tipsword, Elizabeth Ely, and Christine
20Kraushaar; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Barbara Joehl is survived by 13 children, Eileen

8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Barbara C. Joehl, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Barbara Joehl as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
