SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
10 ILCS 5/7-7  from Ch. 46, par. 7-7

    Amends the Election Code. Provides that a judicial district committee for each judicial district and a judicial circuit committee for each judicial circuit, among other committees, are authorized and shall constitute the central or managing committees of each political party for the purpose of making nominations in certain instances under the Act. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning elections.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing Section
57-7 as follows:
 
6    (10 ILCS 5/7-7)  (from Ch. 46, par. 7-7)
7    Sec. 7-7. For the purpose of making nominations in certain
8instances as provided in this Article and this Act, the
9following committees are authorized and shall constitute the
10central or managing committees of each political party, viz: A
11State central committee, whose responsibilities include, but
12are not limited to, filling by appointment vacancies in
13nomination for statewide offices, including but not limited to
14the office of United States Senator, a congressional committee
15for each congressional district, a county central committee for
16each county, a municipal central committee for each city,
17incorporated town or village, a ward committeeman for each ward
18in cities containing a population of 500,000 or more; a
19township committeeman for each township or part of a township
20that lies outside of cities having a population of 200,000 or
21more, in counties having a population of 2,000,000 or more; a
22precinct committeeman for each precinct in counties having a
23population of less than 2,000,000; a county board district

1committee for each county board district created under Division
22-3 of the Counties Code; a State's Attorney committee for each
3group of 2 or more counties which jointly elect a State's
4Attorney; a Superintendent of Multi-County Educational Service
5Region committee for each group of 2 or more counties which
6jointly elect a Superintendent of a Multi-County Educational
7Service Region; a judicial district committee for each judicial
8district; a judicial circuit committee for each judicial
9circuit; a judicial subcircuit committee in a judicial circuit
10divided into subcircuits for each judicial subcircuit in that
11circuit; and a board of review election district committee for
12each Cook County Board of Review election district.

15    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16becoming law.
