Amends the Park District Code. In provisions concerning the governing board of a park district, provides that "compensation" means any salary or other benefit not expressly authorized by the Code that is provided to, paid to, or paid on behalf or members of the board, their family members, and former members of the board and their family members.

|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 4-1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 1205/4-1) (from Ch. 105, par. 4-1)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 4-1.
Each member of the governing board of any park |
| 8 | | district before
entering upon the duties of his office shall |
| 9 | | take and subscribe an oath to
well and faithfully discharge his |
| 10 | | duties, which oath shall be filed with
the secretary of said |
| 11 | | board. The members of such governing board shall
constitute the |
| 12 | | corporate authority for such district and a majority of such
|
| 13 | | members shall constitute a quorum for said board at any meeting |
| 14 | | thereof.
The members of such governing boards shall act as such |
| 15 | | without
compensation, and each member of the board shall be a |
| 16 | | legal voter of and
reside within such district. For purposes of |
| 17 | | this Section, "compensation" means any salary or other benefit |
| 18 | | not expressly authorized by this Code that is provided to, paid |
| 19 | | to, or paid on behalf of members of the board, their family |
| 20 | | members, and former members of the board and their family |
| 21 | | members.
