| 4 | | "Section 3. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act is |
| 5 | | amended by adding Section 5-57 as follows:

| 6 | | (5 ILCS 430/5-57 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 5-57. Prohibition on simultaneous tenure for |
| 8 | | constitutional officers. |
| 9 | | (a) It is unlawful for a person to be an executive branch |
| 10 | | constitutional officer or a legislative branch constitutional |
| 11 | | officer and to hold the office of county board member, township |
| 12 | | supervisor, township trustee, township assessor, or township |
| 13 | | clerk simultaneously. |
| 14 | | (b) As used in this Section, "legislative branch |
| 15 | | constitutional officer" does not include the Auditor |
| 16 | | General.".
