2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to honor our esteemed
colleague, | ||||||
4 | State Representative Carol Sente, on over nine years as a | ||||||
5 | member of the Illinois General
Assembly and thank her for her | ||||||
6 | dedicated service to her State and her community; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente grew up in Glenview; she is the | ||||||
8 | daughter of immigrants from Hungary
and Austria, the middle | ||||||
9 | child of three girls, and proud aunt to her niece and nephew; | ||||||
10 | and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente earned a Bachelor of Science from | ||||||
12 | Indiana University and has taken
master's degree coursework at | ||||||
13 | Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente is a small-business owner, former | ||||||
15 | managing partner of SRBL
Architects, former principal of FGM | ||||||
16 | architects, and former vice president of the Vernon Hills Park
| ||||||
17 | District Board; and | ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente believes that the highest calling in | ||||||
19 | life is service to others, a lesson she
learned from her | ||||||
20 | parents who immigrated to the United States from Eastern Europe | ||||||
21 | to seek a better life
following the 1956 Hungarian Revolution |

| |||||||
1 | and the devastation of World War II, and it is a principle she
| ||||||
2 | exemplifies through her volunteerism and public service | ||||||
3 | throughout the community; and | ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente has been a courageously independent | ||||||
5 | voice and passionate advocate
for bipartisan cooperation in the | ||||||
6 | General Assembly, leading and organizing efforts to bring | ||||||
7 | policymakers
from both sides of the aisle together to foster | ||||||
8 | commonsense solutions and end the State's record-breaking
| ||||||
9 | budget impasse; and | ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente served as chairwoman of the Business | ||||||
11 | Growths and Incentives
Committee and the Environment Committee | ||||||
12 | and sponsored and championed landmark legislation to keep
| ||||||
13 | children and schools safe, foster economic growth, promote | ||||||
14 | environmental stewardship, and advocate for
first responders; | ||||||
15 | and | ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente served an integral role in the | ||||||
17 | formation and leadership of the bipartisan
Small Business Owner | ||||||
18 | Caucus (SBOC) and co-chaired the Illinois Legislative Fire | ||||||
19 | Caucus; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Rep. Sente has been recognized by numerous | ||||||
21 | advocacy organizations for her
legislative initiatives, | ||||||
22 | including the Lake County Underage Drinking and Drug Prevention |

1 | Task Force,
the Small Business Advocacy Council, the American | ||||||
2 | Institute of Architects, the Illinois Association of Chiefs of
| ||||||
3 | Police, and the Illinois Association of Fire Protection | ||||||
4 | Districts; and

5 | WHEREAS, All who had the honor to serve alongside Rep. | ||||||
6 | Sente will miss her warm
friendship and unwavering commitment | ||||||
7 | to bringing people together for the betterment of our State; | ||||||
8 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
10 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
11 | honor and thank State Representative Carol Sente
for her years | ||||||
12 | of dedicated service; and be it further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to Rep. Sente as an
