| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Wheaton Warrenville |
| 4 | | South High School boys cross
country team, the Tigers, on |
| 5 | | winning the 2018-2019 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) |
| 6 | | Class 3A Cross Country State Championship on November 3, 2018; |
| 7 | | and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Tigers completed an undefeated season on their |
| 9 | | way to making history with their first ever state title in |
| 10 | | cross country; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The Tigers claimed the title by 40 points over
the |
| 12 | | second place team; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The Tigers ranked as high as third in the nation |
| 14 | | during the season; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Three team members, William Hauenstein, Scott |
| 16 | | Maison, and Jacob Kluckhohn,
placed in the top 15 overall in |
| 17 | | the state championship; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, This is the second consecutive year the Tigers had |
| 19 | | a top 3 finish in the Class 3A state finals, an incredible |
| 20 | | accomplishment; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, The Tigers went on to compete in the Nike Regional |
| 2 | | contest in Terre Haute, Indiana,
racing against the top teams |
| 3 | | from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio; and

| 4 | | WHEREAS, The Tigers earned second place and qualified to |
| 5 | | compete in the Nike National Cross
Country Championships in |
| 6 | | Portland, Oregon, a contest featuring the top 22 teams in the
|
| 7 | | country; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Winning the IHSA Class 3A Cross Country State |
| 9 | | Championship takes dedication from
all the members of the |
| 10 | | active roster, as well as coaches and staff for support; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The Tigers are William Hauenstein, Scott Maison, |
| 12 | | Jacob Kluckhohn, Sean
Maison, Jared Peaslee, Ethan Seng, and |
| 13 | | David Zeller; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Tigers' head coach, Chris Kuntz, is to be |
| 15 | | commended for helping lead these
young men to an historical |
| 16 | | season and championship; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 18 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 | | congratulate the Wheaton Warrenville South High School boys |
| 20 | | cross country team, the Tigers, on winning the 2018-2019 |
