2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph |
4 | | Anthony "Joe" Perrino; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, At the age of 16, Joe Perrino started in the |
6 | | family's restaurant business, the Home Run Inn in Chicago, |
7 | | aptly named after a home run from a nearby baseball game was |
8 | | hit through the tavern's window; after graduating from Lewis |
9 | | University in 1975, he joined fulltime; in 1981, he headed up |
10 | | an expansion project, bringing the restaurant to its current |
11 | | 550-seat capacity; over the years, the Home Run Inn has |
12 | | expanded to nine locations in Chicago and the suburbs, and its |
13 | | frozen pizzas can be found in retail grocery stores throughout |
14 | | 35 states; Home Run Inn pizza is Chicago's number one selling |
15 | | frozen pizza brand; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Joe Perrino served as CEO of the Home Run Inn |
17 | | Group and the Home Run Inn Foundation; he was managing partner |
18 | | of
Power Play Distributors and Home Run Inn's real estate |
19 | | division; he coordinated Home
Run Inn's Family Advisory Board; |
20 | | he was a co-founder and secretary of Burr Ridge Bank and Trust, |
21 | | where he was also ALCO
Chairman and Board Credit Committee |
22 | | Member; and |

1 | | WHEREAS, Joe Perrino was also a member of numerous |
2 | | charitable and trade organizations, including the Loyola |
3 | | Family
Business Advisory Board, where he served as chair of the |
4 | | Loyola Family Business Counsel, the Loyola Board of
Regents, |
5 | | and the Lewis University College of Business Board; he served |
6 | | as chairman of the Illinois Restaurant
Association, chairman of |
7 | | the Management Association of Illinois, and president of the |
8 | | National Frozen
Pizza Institute; and |
9 | | WHEREAS, Joe Perrino was recognized by Lewis University in |
10 | | 2006 with the Distinguished Alumni Award, and
again in 2009 |
11 | | with the Adam Smith Award; in 2011, he was honored with the |
12 | | Excellence in Business Award by
the Italian American Chamber of |
13 | | Commerce; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Joe Perrino was preceded in death by his parents, |
15 | | Nicola and Loretta Perrino, and many nieces and nephews; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Joe Perrino was the beloved husband of Kathleen S. |
17 | | (Westergaard); the loving father of Gina (Sean) Bolger, Nick |
18 | | (Christina) Perrino, and Renee (Paul) Storie; the cherished |
19 | | grandfather of Lexi, Sammie and Seany Bolger, Joey, Mikey, |
20 | | Lily, and Anthony Perrino, and Logan Storie; and the dear |
21 | | brother of Lucretia (Dan) Costello and Marilyn (John) Carlson; |
22 | | therefore, be it

1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
2 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
3 | | mourn the passing of Joseph Anthony "Joe" Perrino, and extend |
4 | | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who |
5 | | knew and loved him; and be it further

6 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
7 | | presented to the family of Joe Perrino as an expression of our |
8 | | deepest sympathy.
