2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Wilson |
4 | | Frost of Chicago, who passed away on May 5, 2018; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Wilson Frost was born in Cairo on December 27, |
6 | | 1925 and earned his bachelor's degree from Fisk University in |
7 | | 1950; he earned his Juris Doctor in 1958 from the Chicago-Kent |
8 | | College of Law; he later studied at DePaul University's |
9 | | Lawyer's Institute; and

10 | | WHEREAS, Wilson Frost was hired by the Postal |
11 | | Transportation Service as a clerk, where he remained until |
12 | | 1952; he then joined Provident Hospital as a statistician; |
13 | | after earning his law degree, he joined the firm of Frost, |
14 | | Sherard, Howse & Coleman, where he continued on as a partner |
15 | | until 1973; he left to form Meyer & Frost, which later became |
16 | | Frost & Greenblatt, where he remained until his retirement in |
17 | | 1998; and

18 | | WHEREAS, Wilson Frost became active in Chicago politics in |
19 | | 1967 when he won election as alderman of the 21st Ward; in |
20 | | 1971, he was elected alderman of the 34th Ward, and in 1976, he |
21 | | served as the president pro tem of the City Council; he served |
22 | | the city until retiring in 1998 with the title of commissioner |
