HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Fr. Mariusz J. Nawalaniec 
4on the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Fr. Nawalaniec was born in southern Poland to Anna 
7(Szewczyk) and Andrzej Nawalaniec; he spent his childhood and 
8youth up to the age of 19 in Limanowa, where he  attended 
9school; he joined the seminary in Tarnow on September 1, 1987; 
10he was ordained as a priest on May 29, 1993 at the Cathedral 
11Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tarnow; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Fr. Nawalaniec's first parish was the Parish of 
14Saint John the Baptist in Mikluszowice;  he then joined the 
15Sanctuary of the Infant Jesus in Jodlowa and then the parish of 
16Our Lady Queen of Poland in Tarnow-Moscice; eventually, he  
17joined his parents who had immigrated to the United States and 
18began serving with the Universal Church in North America on 
19August 26, 2001; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, In the United States, Fr. Nawalaniec served at St. 
21Wladyslaw in Chicago, Saint Albert the Great in Burbank, the 
22St. Symphorosa Parish in Chicago, and as an administrator at

1St. Mary's Queen of Apostle Parish in Riverdale; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, On July 1, 2016, he was appointed a parish priest 
3in Saint Albert the Great Parish, where he previously served; 
4and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Fr. Nawalaniec will also celebrate his 50th 
6birthday this December; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9congratulate Fr. Mariusz J. Nawalaniec on the 25th anniversary 
10of his ordination to the priesthood, and we wish him many more 
11wonderful years; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to Fr. Nawalaniec as a symbol of our respect and 
14esteem.
