| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ivy Lewis |
| 4 | | Parker of Chicago, who passed away on December 12, 2017; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ivy Parker was born in the Ninth Ward of New |
| 6 | | Orleans, Louisiana to Ivy L. Davis and Effie Jones on December |
| 7 | | 31, 1950; in 1964, her family migrated to Chicago, where she |
| 8 | | attended John Marshall High School; following high school, she |
| 9 | | studied at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, |
| 10 | | Kennedy King College in Chicago, and Chicago State University; |
| 11 | | in 1977, while on a break from her collegiate studies, she |
| 12 | | married Richard Samuel Parker; she earned a degree in computer |
| 13 | | science and a minor in mathematics from Chicago State in 1984; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ivy Parker was a math teacher in the Chicago |
| 16 | | Public Schools and taught at Phillips, Dunbar, Tesla, Harlan, |
| 17 | | Orr, and Nancy Jefferson; she retired in 2009 and then |
| 18 | | established a successful home tutoring business; in 2015, she |
| 19 | | became a managing partner and founder of Suite Little Feet |
| 20 | | Incorporated; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Ivy Parker was preceded in death by her parents |
| 22 | | and her sister, Mary; and
|
