HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives offer their warmest congratulations to United 
4States Senator Tammy Duckworth and her husband, Bryan Bowlsbey, 
5on the birth of their daughter, Maile Pearl Bowlsbey; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Maile Pearl Bowlsbey was born on April 9, 2018 at 
77:07 a.m. at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, 
8Virginia; and
  
 
  
9    WHEREAS, Maile Pearl Bowlsbey takes the name of her late 
10Great Aunt Pearl Bowlsbey Johnson, who served her country 
11proudly as an Army nurse during World War II; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Maile Pearl Bowlsbey joins her sister, Abigail, in 
13the honor of having her name blessed by the late Senator Daniel 
14Akaka of Hawaii; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The birth of Maile Pearl Bowlsbey is also a major 
16landmark for women in government, as Senator Duckworth is the 
17first United States Senator to give birth to a child while 
18serving in office; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
20HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
