HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. on the occasion of their 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Daniel L. Goodwin, Robert H. Baum, G. Joseph Cosenza, and Robert D. Parks began their careers as teachers in the Chicago Public Schools; they combined their interest in real estate with teamwork and determination and incorporated their own business in 1968; and

WHEREAS, Based in Oak Brook, Inland's early success began by building and managing apartments, converting condominiums, and developing land; within five years, the four founders left teaching and devoted themselves to the business; and

WHEREAS, Inland has grown into one of the largest commercial real estate and finance organizations in the United States; the company employs more than 1,000 people, manages more than 73,000 apartments nationally, sponsors more than 720 investment programs, and serves more than 490,000 investors; since its founding, Inland has purchased more than $45 billion in commercial real estate across 49 states; and

WHEREAS, Daniel L. Goodwin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, serves as the organization's leader, strategist, and governmental lobbyist; Robert H. Baum serves as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Vice Chairman, and manages nearly 30 lawyers and paralegals, and Vice Chairman; G. Joseph Cosenza, Vice Chairman of the Inland Real Estate Group LLC and President of Inland Real Estate Acquisitions LLC, acquires property for investment groupings; Robert D. Parks, Director, Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation, sells Inland's products to investors; and

WHEREAS, Inland has been the recipient of more than 60 awards, including the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics, which it received three times in the last decade; it was also the first corporation to be named to the Chicago Association of REALTORS Hall of Fame in 2014; the Illinois REALTORS also honored Daniel L. Goodwin with its first Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, and we wish them continued success in the commercial real estate industry; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Daniel L. Goodwin, Robert H. Baum, G. Joseph Cosenza, and Robert D. Parks as an expression of our esteem and respect.
