HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Lindsey Jensen on being 
4selected as the 2018 Illinois Teacher of the Year by the 
5Illinois State Board of Education; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Through education, Lindsey Jensen has changed the 
7lives of students; she has been teaching for 12 years and began 
8her career as a teacher's aide in junior high; for the past 
9nine years, she  has been teaching high school English; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Lindsey Jensen is in her fourth year at Dwight 
11Township High School, where she teaches 11th and 12th grade 
12English; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Lindsey Jensen is known for presenting material in 
14creative ways, such as through song, and for her contagious 
15desire for students to not only earn good grades, but to also 
16truly understand the material; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Lindsey Jensen is involved in the community beyond 
18the classroom and has raised thousands of dollars for Special 
19Olympics; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Lindsey Jensen was selected as the 2018 Illinois

1Teacher of the Year at the Those Who Excel banquet in Normal, 
2Illinois on October 28, 2017; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5congratulate Lindsey Jensen on being selected as the Illinois 
6Teacher of the Year, and we thank her for her continuing 
7commitment to education; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Lindsey Jensen as an expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
