2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Ginny Bateman on the | ||||||
4 | occasion of her retirement as the Director of Recreation and | ||||||
5 | Marketing for the Oswegoland Park District; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Ginny Bateman earned a Bachelor's Degree in | ||||||
7 | Recreation Administration from California State University | ||||||
8 | Chico and began her career in Oswego in 1979 when the Park | ||||||
9 | District was a small rural agency with three full-time staff, | ||||||
10 | 184 acres of parkland, and seven parks; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Ginny Bateman has been committed to her community; | ||||||
12 | under her guidance, the District began several flagship | ||||||
13 | programs, including As We Grow Preschool, Team Oswego | ||||||
14 | Gymnastics, and Kid's Connection; she envisioned and developed | ||||||
15 | the Limelight Theatre Company, which produced over 16 shows in | ||||||
16 | 2017, involved over 400 actors, and an audience of 4,000; with | ||||||
17 | her innovation, Oswegoland Park District introduced successful | ||||||
18 | community events like PrairieFest, Gobbler Hobbler 10K, I Tried | ||||||
19 | a Triathlon, and Monster Mash Bash; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Throughout her time at the Oswegoland Park | ||||||
21 | District, Ginny Bateman asked the important questions; she made | ||||||
22 | decisions based on the needs of the growing community; her |

1 | attention to the residents reflects her unwavering focus on the | ||||||
2 | District's vision of "Creating Opportunities for a Healthy | ||||||
3 | Community"; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, During her career, Ginny Bateman earned a Master's | ||||||
5 | in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School, her | ||||||
6 | Certified Park and Recreation Professional Certification, and | ||||||
7 | her Certified Park and Recreation Executive Certification; she | ||||||
8 | also contributed to two campaigns certifying the Distinguished | ||||||
9 | Accreditation status of the Oswegoland Park District, | ||||||
10 | including the successful effort in 2017; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, For 38 years, Ginny Bateman demonstrated | ||||||
12 | exemplary public service to the many people who worked under | ||||||
13 | her tutelage; she leaves an agency with 52 full-time staff, 995 | ||||||
14 | acres of parkland, 60 parks, and an immeasurable effect on | ||||||
15 | staff and residents alike; therefore, be it
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
17 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
18 | congratulate Ginny Bateman on her retirement as the Director of | ||||||
19 | Recreation and Marketing for the Oswegoland Park District and | ||||||
20 | we recognize her dedicated and heartfelt service; we wish her | ||||||
21 | the best in all of her future endeavors; and be it further

22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
