| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Hailstorm
Brewing Co. | ||||||
| 4 | of Tinley Park on its success at the 2017 Great American Beer | ||||||
| 5 | Festival; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Hailstorm Brewing Co. was founded in April of | ||||||
| 7 | 2014 by owners Brandon Banbury, Chris
Schiller, Gene | ||||||
| 8 | Wabiszczewicz, and Josh Wabiszczewicz; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Hailstorm Brewing Co. has developed a loyal | ||||||
| 10 | following of craft beer enthusiasts in the
south suburbs and | ||||||
| 11 | across Illinois, as evidenced by the overflow crowds in the | ||||||
| 12 | taproom and the
way the cans fly off the shelves at local | ||||||
| 13 | retailers; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The Hailstorm Brewing Co. is expanding its taproom | ||||||
| 15 | next spring from 900 to 4,400 square feet in order to provide
| ||||||
| 16 | more space for the community they foster; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, The Hailstorm Brewing Co. recently returned from | ||||||
| 18 | the 2017 Great American Beer Festival
with a Gold Medal for its | ||||||
| 19 | Prairie Madness, which won Gold over 408 entries in the | ||||||
| 20 | American-Style
India Pale Ale, the most competitive category in | ||||||
| 21 | the entire competition, and a silver for
its Rock Out with | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Maibock Out in the Bock category; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The Hailstorm Brewing Co. employs 12 people and is | ||||||
| 3 | an important part of the quality of
life in Tinley Park and the | ||||||
| 4 | surrounding communities; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The people of the Hailstorm Brewing Co. exemplify | ||||||
| 6 | the hard working, creative, passionate,
and generous nature of | ||||||
| 7 | Illinois craft brewers across the State; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Illinois is fortunate to be home to 180 craft | ||||||
| 9 | breweries with more coming online each
month; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Illinois craft beer industry directly employs | ||||||
| 11 | 4,500 people and has a $2.6 billion economic
impact across the | ||||||
| 12 | State; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 15 | congratulate the Hailstorm Brewing Co. for its Gold and Silver
| ||||||
| 16 | Medals and thank everyone at Hailstorm for bringing the | ||||||
| 17 | hardware home to a state that loves
its beer and its brewers; | ||||||
| 18 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to the Hailstorm Brewing Co. as a
symbol of our | ||||||
