2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Bob | ||||||
4 | Wilson; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Wilson served in the United States Army from | ||||||
6 | 1961 to 1963; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, In 1964, Bob Wilson became his father's first | ||||||
8 | employee at Wilson Rental, which was founded in 1958; he | ||||||
9 | eventually owned the business, expanding it to three
locations; | ||||||
10 | in
the 1990s, he started the special event rental; he also | ||||||
11 | worked for Prairie 1515, a website company; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Bob Wilson served on the Homewood Zoning Board for | ||||||
13 | three years and as a trustee for Homewood for over 15 years; he | ||||||
14 | was chairman of the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce in
| ||||||
15 | 2000 and served as a board member for three years prior; he was | ||||||
16 | also chairman of the
chamber's Regional Governmental Affairs | ||||||
17 | Committee and the Ambassador Committee; he was
named "Small | ||||||
18 | Business Person of the Year" by the Chamber in 1992; and | ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Bob Wilson was a longtime member and past
| ||||||
20 | president of the Homewood Rotary Club; he organized, managed, | ||||||
21 | and participated in medical missions
to Cusco, Peru; he |

1 | orchestrated the delivery of an ambulance to Peru; for over 27 | ||||||
2 | years, he donated his time, tables, and tents for the annual | ||||||
3 | Rotary Health Fair; he donated his equipment to be used to | ||||||
4 | roast corn at Homewood Days; most recently, he was a member of | ||||||
5 | the Near South Rotary, where he maintained their website; and | ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Bob Wilson was a member of the Chicago Cook | ||||||
7 | Workforce Partnership, the Greater South Loop Association, the | ||||||
8 | Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau, the
Homewood | ||||||
9 | Chamber of Commerce, the
Orland Park Chamber of Commerce, the
| ||||||
10 | Mokena Chamber of Commerce, the
Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, | ||||||
11 | the
New Lenox Chamber of Commerce, the
Downers Grove Chamber of | ||||||
12 | Commerce, the
Naperville Chamber of Commerce, the
Lisle Chamber | ||||||
13 | of Commerce, the
Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce, the
American | ||||||
14 | Rental Association, the
American Rental Association of | ||||||
15 | Chicagoland, and the
WordPress Meet Ups; and | ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Bob Wilson volunteered for the Field Museum, Lit | ||||||
17 | Fest, and WordCamp; and | ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Bob Wilson was a man of many personal interests, | ||||||
19 | including riding motorcycles and flying; he held a private | ||||||
20 | pilots license with an instrument rating; he enjoyed jazz and | ||||||
21 | was an ardent supporter of Jazz In The Park For Charity, | ||||||
22 | providing tents, chairs, and logistical support; therefore, be | ||||||
23 | it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
2 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
3 | mourn the passing of Bob Wilson, and extend our sincere | ||||||
4 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
5 | him; and be it further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Bob Wilson as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | deepest sympathy.
