HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Patrick Garrett on his 
4"retirement" as a Pack Leader for Cub Scout Pack 43; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, On February 19, 2017, Cub Scout Pack 43 will host 
6its  Annual Blue and Gold Banquet, where fifth grade boys 
7receive their final honors as Cub Scouts and participate in a 
8"crossing over" ceremony where they become Boy Scouts and join 
9a Boy Scout Troop; parents of these boys that have held 
10leadership positions in the Pack "retire" from said position; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Patrick Garrett has provided exemplary service as 
13a leader for the past 11 years, during which time the size of 
14the  Pack doubled to over 85 boys; he has been involved with the 
15Lincoln Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America, helping to 
16guide the annual popcorn sales fundraiser, among many other 
17events; Pack 43 led the district in popcorn sales for four 
18consecutive years; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Patrick Garrett served as Assistant Den Leader 
20from 2008 to 2012; in 2011, he oversaw Wood Badge training, the 
21highest level of adult scout leader training; from 2010 to 
222017, he was the Pack 43 Committee Chairman; from 2013 to the

1present, he was the Chartered Organization Representative for 
2Pack 43; and

  
 
3    WHEREAS, Patrick Garrett has been a valuable asset to Pack 
443 and his absence will be deeply felt; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate Patrick Garrett on his "retirement" as a Pack 
8Leader for Cub Scout Pack 43; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Patrick Garrett as an expression our esteem and 
11respect.
