| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Dee-Mack High School |
| 4 | | boys football team, the Chiefs, on the occasion of their |
| 5 | | remarkable 2016 season with a record of 13 wins and one loss |
| 6 | | and winning the 2016 Illinois High School Association Class 2A |
| 7 | | Boys Football State Championship; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Chiefs defeated Maroa-Forsyth High School by |
| 9 | | taking an early lead and scoring 14 points in the fourth |
| 10 | | quarter and won by a score of 35 to 7 at Memorial Stadium at the |
| 11 | | University of Illinois in Champaign to claim the championship; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The Chiefs had a successful season with several |
| 14 | | impressive highlights, tying the school record for most wins, |
| 15 | | breaking the school record for scoring with a total score of |
| 16 | | 656 points, and becoming the first boys football team at the |
| 17 | | school to win a state championship; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, The Chiefs were undefeated in the postseason with
|
| 19 | | a record of 5-0, and the team scored the most points in Class |
| 20 | | 2A postseason history with 232 total points; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, The Chiefs are coached by head coach, Job Linboom, |

| 1 | | a social studies and history teacher who took over the program |
| 2 | | in 2006 and thinks teaching, education, and preparedness are |
