Amends the Private Sewage Disposal Licensing Act. Allows veterans of the United States Armed Forces who have been discharged under honorable conditions to pay 50% of the licensing and examination fees determined by the Department of Public Health to be issued a private sewage system installation contractor license or a private sewage disposal system pumping contractor license. The applicant's veteran status can be verified using his or her DD-214 form.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Private Sewage Disposal Licensing Act is |
5 | | amended by changing Section 5 as follows:
|
6 | | (225 ILCS 225/5) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 116.305)
|
7 | | Sec. 5.
(a) The Director shall issue a private sewage |
8 | | system
installation
contractor license or a private sewage |
9 | | disposal system pumping contractor
license to persons applying |
10 | | for such license who successfully pass a
written examination |
11 | | prepared by the Department and who pay the required annual |
12 | | license
fee in an amount determined by the Department.
Each |
13 | | person who holds a currently valid plumbing license issued |
14 | | under
the Illinois Plumbing License Law
shall not be required |
15 | | to pay the
annual license fee required by this Section, but |
16 | | such licensed person shall
comply with all other provisions of |
17 | | this Act, including the requirement
for examination for |
18 | | licensure.

19 | | (b) A license issued under this Act shall expire on |
20 | | December 31 of the
year issued, except that an original license |
21 | | issued after October 1 and
before December 31 shall expire on |
22 | | December 31 of the following year.

23 | | The Department shall reinstate a license which expires |
