Amends the Public Utilities Act. Requires the Illinois Commerce Commission, in coordination with the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, to issue a report evaluating the degree to which public utilities' support of job education and training leads to job creation and economic growth in the State. Provides for repeal of the provisions on January 1, 2020. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 9-227.1 as follows: |
6 | | (220 ILCS 5/9-227.1 new) |
7 | | Sec. 9-227.1. Job education and training study. No later |
8 | | than June 30, 2019, the Commission, in coordination with the |
9 | | Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, shall issue a |
10 | | report evaluating the degree to which public utilities' support |
11 | | of job education and training leads to job creation and |
12 | | economic growth in the State. |
13 | | This Section is repealed on January 1, 2020.

14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
15 | | becoming law.
